2024: A Year Unpacked

As 2024 comes to an end, it’s the perfect time to reflect on the Bay Cities landmark year. This year has pushed our limits to deliver innovative and creative solutions in the retail packaging and display industry. Here are a few highlights:   

Leading the Pack

Following the launch of our sustainable wine shipping product line EcoVino™ late last year, we officially started accepting orders this year. One of our many notable collaborations included renown and environmentally-conscious Mondavi Sisters’ Collection which selected EcoVino as its wine shipping partner. EcoVino delivers unparalleled benefits to elevate brands while supporting sustainable practices. Made from up to 99% post-consumer waste and 100% recyclable, FSC®- and SFI®-certified corrugated materials, we’ve created structurally sound, aesthetically pleasing, and thermal-controlled wine packaging which ensures safe delivery, as well as an exceptional unboxing experience. 

Accolades Unboxed

We were honored to have received various industry awards this year. We took home three Outstanding Merchandising Achievement (OMA) Awards at Shop! Association's Shop Marketplace 2024. The OMA Awards are the pinnacle of recognition in the marketing-at-retail industry, celebrating displays that not only meet but exceed the standards of merchandising excellence. Bay Cities' displays stood out as examples of groundbreaking work, and winning these esteemed awards is a testament to our team's ingenuity, dedication, and passion for pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in retail display design. 

Additionally, Bay Cities was recognized with four awards – including a gold – at The Independent Packaging Association’s (AICC) Box Manufacturing Olympics (BMO). The Box Manufacturing Olympics is one of the most prestigious global competitions in the corrugated and packaging industry, bringing together the best from TAPPI and AICC members worldwide. Entries are judged on design, quality, graphic excellence, technical difficulty, and innovative application—criteria that represent the pinnacle of packaging craftsmanship and creativity.  

In keeping with its commitment to sustainability, Bay Cities was also awarded a 2024 Progressive Grocer Impact Award in Sustainability/Resource Conservation.

These achievements underscore our commitment to setting new standards in packaging design, further solidifying our position as a leader in the packaging and retail display industry.   

Unpacking Knowledge

Another accomplishment this past year was building a Resource Center to help businesses discover valuable insights and innovative solutions in packaging design! The Resource Center offers guides and updates on trends in packaging and display. Bay Cities is dedicated to supporting informed decision-making through knowledge-sharing and community engagement. We look forward to expanding the Resource Center further, adding more interactive tools and resources to meet the needs of our industry partners. 

Blueprints for Tomorrow

As we look forward to 2025, we are filled with excitement and joy for what the future holds at Bay Cities. 

With an ever-growing desire for eco-conscious solutions, we continue to build on the popularity of EcoVino  and grow this product line.  We also continue to expand our beverage packout facility Premier Packaging, where, among other capabilities, we offer variety packs, direct shipping to retailers, and more in order to streamline your beverage packaging process.
