Summer Production Hours Increase Energy Efficiency and Sustainability

Consumers are continuing to request that products are made sustainably and ethically. In fact, a recent study has shown that a third of consumers are now choosing to buy from companies they believe are doing social good or are making sustainability a core priority. Companies who integrate sustainability into their innovation, product creation and packaging sourcing have a potential untapped opportunity for their business.

At Bay Cities, sustainability is one of our core values along with innovation. As Bay Cities continues to thrive towards being more energy efficient and eco-friendly, we are changing our production hours during summer. The summer production schedule, which runs from June 25 through early October, has shifts starting at either 3.30 a.m. and end at 12 noon or start at 7 p.m. and end at 3.30 am.

By running our larger machinery during non-peak times of the day, we reduce electricity demand and our employees are working during cooler hours of the day. A potential easier commute to work and traffic alleviation from busier hours of the day on the road benefits our community as well as our employees. Our summer hours also assist us to be a bit more flexible with client orders, as we receive them during different times of the day.

Be sure to continue to check back in as Bay Cities continues to explore new opportunities in sustainability and how it can help our employees and the environment
