In response to increasing environmental concerns, sustainability has become a driving force in shaping global packaging trends, and Bay Cities is at the forefront.
A Symbiotic Relationship
Sustainability goes beyond benefitting the planet; consumers want to support companies that possess a sense of corporate social responsibility, and employees want to work for companies whose values align with their own. That is to say, According to the National Retail Federation, 77% of consumers find it "moderately important” and/or “extremely important” to look for brands that are sustainable and/or environmentally responsible. Additionally, in a survey of 2,000 employees in the U.S., commissioned by Paul Polman (former Unilever CEO), 76% of respondents indicated that they want to work for a company that is trying to have a positive impact on the world.
Go Green With Us
The principles of sustainability are at the core of everything we do. It all starts with what our company is built around: our corrugated packaging products, which are widely recognized as the most eco-friendly packaging option.
One of the cornerstones of our sustainability practices is our use of corrugate that is 100% recyclable and made from 99% post-consumer waste. This not only reduces the demand for new raw materials but also diverts waste from landfills, contributing to a circular economy. Additionally, our packing is created with longevity in mind, as each of our boxes has up to seven lives.
While a trademark of our business is creativity in design, this is not at the sacrifice of sustainability. Instead, we ensure environmentally friendly techniques with the use of water-based adhesives and inks.
From the Ground Up
Even before the production process starts, Bay Cities takes into account sustainability. With a McKinsey survey showing that 66% of respondents are either “very concerned” or “extremely concerned ” about deforestation, they will be relieved to know that, among our various accreditations, we are certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC®). This literal stamp of approval guarantees that our products come from forests that are managed sustainably according to FSC®’s rigorous criteria. Furthermore, to counteract our use of natural resources, for every tree used in our production of packaging, we plant 7 more in its place.
Packaging has become not only a vessel for products but a reflection of values, innovation, and a commitment to a more sustainable future. At Bay Cities, we’re not just looking out for our bottom line; we’re looking out for our employees and the planet.
