Having recently celebrated his 27th anniversary with Bay Cities, we wanted to sit down with sales superstar Marty Moore and learn what keeps him coming back to the Bay after all these years.
An industry he didn’t even know existed prior to encountering Bay Cities, Marty remembers driving home from his interview and noticing truck after truck of corrugate. Following that and visiting stores like Costco, he realized that anyone who makes a product can be a potential client for Bay Cities which meant that his opportunities with the company were “limitless.”
Upon understanding that the creative culture of Bay Cities meant that he could work with clients and industries that he liked plus experience a variety in his day-to-day, Marty knew he was in the right place.
Having come from the hospitality industry, Marty explains that the experience served as a great training ground for his customer-centric role at Bay Cities. Marty views himself as an extension of his clients, pointing out that, “Even though I get a paycheck from Bay Cities, I actually work for my clients.”
In thinking back on the many rewarding projects he’s been a part of during his time at Bay Cities, an exciting partnership with Boost Mobile stands out to Marty as “one of the most unique designs” that he’s been a part of. An interactive launch hype kit that utilized augmented reality, the initiative led to great success for the client, including a 500% lift in social media engagement.
Having served four years in the army, an experience that instilled a value for teamwork, Marty appreciates that Bay Cities has a similar team spirit atmosphere. He says that, even though he’s an individual in his role, he has a strong team behind him.
Marty also appreciates the loyalty that the company shows, sharing that Bay Cities stood by and supported him through an illness he experienced years ago.
When asked about his favorite thing about working at Bay Cities, Marty answered, “The people! ...and our sports tickets!” A big basketball fan, Marty loves treating his clients to courtside Lakers seats as a way to reward them for their loyalty.
Marty counts Bay Cities 40-year sales veteran Lloyd Lane and Bay Cities CEO Greg Tucker as invaluable mentors and offers the advice that, “The harder you work, the luckier you get.”
As for how he spends his free time, Marty loves playing golf and enjoys collecting, as well as refurbishing and flipping, classic cars.
